HireWave Ltd is a technology consultancy specialising in telecommunications, operating primarily within the United Kingdom and European Union. We are responsible as ‘controller’ of personal information under the General Data Protection Regulation and are committed to safeguarding and preserving the privacy of your data.

We ask that you read this privacy notice carefully as it contains important information on who we are, how and why we collect, store, use and share personal information, your rights in relation to your personal information, how to contact us and details of the supervisory authorities in the event you have a complaint. By using this site and submitting any personal data, you agree to the use by HireWave in accordance with this privacy statement.

2. The type of personal information we collect

We currently collect and process the following information:

  • First and last name
  • Contact information including address, email and phone number
  • Personal information contained within Curriculum Vitae (CV) or Resume
  • Employment history and job experience
  • Information available in the public domain on professional networking sites (e.g. LinkedIn) and social media
  • Information necessary for identity verification checks and client reference requests
  • Recruitment information associated with interviews attended and outcomes
  • Financial information so that we can pay our suppliers and manage our legal reporting obligations
  • Information pertinent to supplying consultancy services on behalf of our client organisations
  • Information voluntarily provided to Job Boards
  • Responses to our own advertising for job opportunities
  • Credit checking organisations

3. How we get the personal information and why we have it

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us voluntarily and directly by you for one of the following reasons:

  • The provision of contact information, CV data, identification data and payment details are required from you to enable us to engage with clients, match your skills with our job opportunities, to process offers and if engaged, to on-board and to pay and charge for the services provided.

We also receive personal information indirectly, from the following sources in the following scenarios:

  • Referral or introduction from a known associate, friend, colleague.
  • Information available in the public domain on professional networking sites (e.g. LinkedIn) and social media.

We only use information received indirectly in order to match your skills with our job opportunities.

We never share any information with any third party, including our clients without first checking the accuracy and completeness of the personal data and obtaining the explicit consent of the individual related to this information.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:

  • Your consent. You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting .
  • We have a contractual obligation.
  • We have a legal obligation.
  • We have a vital interest.
  • We need it to perform a public task.
  • We have a legitimate interest.

4. How we store your personal information

  • Your information is securely stored in United Kingdom (UK) datacentres managed by Microsoft Azure.
  • We keep applicant data for a period of 6 years, unless instructed otherwise. Applicant data refers specifically to personal information contained within Curriculum Vitae (CV) or Resume.
  • If you are engaged or employed by HireWave to work on one of our client engagements, we will hold your personal details for up to 3 years after the completion of the engagement. After this time your data may be deleted or anonymised for skills profiling purposes.
  • If engaged or employed by HireWave Ltd, we will maintain your National Insurance number, VAT registration, bank account and payment data whilst you remain engaged or employed and for 6 years after (this is required by the relevant authorities).
  • If engaged or employed by HireWave Ltd we will maintain any additional identification data for no more than 6 months after termination of employment or the completion of an engagement where there is no follow-on assignment.
  • We will then dispose your information by secure deletion from our database.

5. Your data protection rights

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

  • Your right of access – You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.
  • Your right to rectification – You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.
  • Your right to erasure – You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.
  • Your right to restriction of processing – You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
  • Your right to object to processing – You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
  • Your right to data portability – You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.
